It all started with a YES!

3 Years ago today My Amazing husband proposed to me.

Thanks so much for making me laugh all the times I wanted to cry.
Thank you for not getting mad when I don't get the laundry done.
Thank you for loving the gospel.
Thanks for laughing at me when I have the hiccups,
and for all the surprises that you bring home for me. (I love them!)
Thank you for working so hard to support our family.
Thank you for always having a smile on your face.
and most importantly thank you for Navi, our sweet baby girl.
Even if she is a daddy's girl and smiles for you way more than she does for me,
I know thats because she can sense your great spirit and she can feel your love.
I had only hoped 3 years ago today that we would be where we are now.
I love you Brandon!
Thanks for being you!

Navi La'ie

I have been holding off on posting these pictures because I didn't want to take away from the sweet post that Brandon made last week. So if you haven't read that one, be sure you do. Words cannot describe the love we have for Navi and the sweet spirit she has brought into our home.  I absolutely love being a mom. Here are some of Navi's favorite things to do right now: Sleep, Sleep, Eat, Sleep, Poop, Sleep and eat again.  She is such a deep sleeper, we can't even wake her up to eat, sometimes she will go for 5 hours straight without eating.  (no complaints here, it's always during the middle of the night so I can get my sleep) Navi, we love you so much, everyday you amaze us more and more.  All pictures are Courtesy of Courtney Brooke. Thanks Court!

A Letter to Navi

Dear Navi,

Words can not even begin to describe the love I have for you baby girl. One week ago today you were brought into this cold, and scary world. One week ago today you made me realize what life is all about and that I had one missing thing in my life up until this point, and that missing thing was the amazing love that I feel by bringing a child into this world. You gave this very special gift to me Navi, and for that I will be eternally grateful.

After what seemed like hours of blowing on your moms face and rubbing her leg to calm her down and ease the pain of child birth, you entered our lives at exactly 12:00 p.m. It's pretty cool because the Doctor was predicting that you would be born around 2 or 2:30, but something in my heart told me that you would be here at noon. I just knew it. I was right.

Right before you were born, I looked into your Mom's eyes after she had been giving it her all and then some, and told her to push, and to push harder than she thought she could ever push in her life. She did, and out you came. First your head, and then one more small push from your Mom and you were completely out. Your Mom is amazing. She had you with no pain relief. No epidural. Not to many Mom's can say they have done that!

When you entered our lives, you entered it purple and swollen. I barely thought you would make it out, your cheeks were so big! The Doctor quickly gave you to Mom right when you were born. As you layed on her chest, you looked into her eyes. I couldn't stop crying when I saw this. It was the single most amazing thing I think I will ever witness. Shortly after that they had me cut your umbilical cord. What a unique experience. I think of that moment everyday Navi, and probably will for a long time to come.

Most babies scream at the top of their lungs when they are born. I was amazed at how little you were crying and also how calm your cry was. It was very soothing. You would cry for a few seconds and then calm yourself down and then return to crying a few more seconds and then stop for a minute. Not your typical newborn at all. You were special and I knew it.

Your Grandma's and Grandpa, Uncles and Aunts were there to see you and love you more than you know. People I don't even know love you. You are a very loved girl Navi and I think it's safe to say that will never ever change.

Over the next two days at the hospital, we got to learn about your personality and spend time with you. I got to wheel you around in your little cart thingy, give your first bath and change your diaper for the first time. Your Mom got to feed you and give you life. You wore us both out but it was completely worth every second!

The day after you were born, I sat holding you in my arms. Your Mom was next to me. We were trying to think of what to name you. We had heard the name Navi from Mom's friend and really loved it, but didn't know if it was the right name for you. As I sat with you in my arms, I decided to start calling you Navi to see if it fit or not. To my surprise, right when I said your name, you gave me the biggest smile you have ever given me to this day. Your Mom and I both looked at each other and tears came to our eyes. We knew that was your name and we are so glad you did too because it fits you so well!

We brought you home on Saturday and immediately your sweet spirit entered the walls of our home. Navi, to describe what you mean to me would be like memorizing the dictionary. You have changed my life and given me a new spirit. Not only have you done this to me, but you have given this gift to anyone who meets you and gets to hold you.

I feel so lucky that every day we have gotten to hang out just the two of us. Whether its for 5 min. or a half hour. You look me right into my eyes and it's hard to hold back the tears of joy that I get when you do. I don't know what you are thinking but I know you love me and I know you know I am your Dad.

I will always be there for you Navi. I love you more than anything on this world. You are my little girl and always will be. I am so in debt to our Heavenly Father for Him sending such a special little girl to your Mom and I. You are truly an angel. Time will always fly by just like this first week has, but no matter how fast the time goes, I know we will be together forever.

Love always,

Your Daddy

Robyn's Latenight Shinanigans #2!!

Yes. This feature is not so new anymore but this is only the second addition to the actual feature since it's inception. This one is a treat. Please, if you are reading this blog, doesn't matter who you are, leave a comment. The more reactions the better.

So it went down like this... I was rolling over into bed and Robyn reached out her arms to give me a hug and said the following:

R - Come here, let me hug you. I love you so much.
B - I love you too! Thanks. (Thinking she was awake and had her head on straight.... until...)
Youre such a good yardworker.
Yardworker?
Ya, the thing that they are paying you for!
Yardworker?
Ya.
Who is paying me to do yardwork?
Linda.

I laughed a little bit before Robyn fell quickly back into a deep sleep. Gotta love my wife! :) My mom (or Linda Orme) is definitely not paying me to do any yard work.

Baby Shower!!!

Last Sunday all the girls on Brandon's side of the family threw me a baby shower. I am always amazed at how creative his whole side of the family is! The theme for the shower was look Whoooo's joining the Family Tree so the whole thing was decorated with Owls. All the decorations were so cute! They served an Awesome Pasta bar dinner with Breadsticks and Salad from Olive Garden... (leftover's were fantastic) then we played some baby bunko... I Never knew Bunko was so fun! I LOVED IT! Court and I want to have a weekly bunko party with friends. Then after that we opened some gifts, well not just some gifts.... A LOT of gifts. Brandon's family is so nice and got me WAY too many things. I honestly can't believe how many nice things I got. I seriously don't feel worthy. But I am so grateful that I married into such an amazing family. I owe everyone some serious thank-you cards! (especially everyone who helped put it together) Here are some pictures from the party. I feel bad being the last one to post about this but I had to wait for everyone else to post so I could steel there pictures.

I almost forgot about the cake... I dont have a picture of it but it is probably the BEST Cake I have ever eaten. It was Coconut cake. Here is the recipe...

Bake a White cake, poke holes in the top of it with the end of a wooden spoon, then stir and pour cream of coconut (coco lopez brand) all over the top of the cake while it is still warm, Let it cool, cover then chill. Then when it is time to eat it frost with real whip cream (sweetened with powdered sugar) and top with shredded coconut.

It is such an easy recipe and a crowd pleaser for sure! I seriously have dreams about this cake! Most of us were licking our plates clean when it was gone!

Thanks again everyone! I had a Blast. We should have Girl family parties all the time!! You guys are the best!
